I recently purchased a Sony charging station for my ps3 controller and it came with a little plastic clip thing that essentially transforms the usb port into charging contacts, if that makes sense. I'm wondering if something like this possible for our phones, or any phone really.

The docks i've seen all require you to plug into the usb port manually.. if someone made something like above we would have it plugged in already and we'd just drop it in a dock like the good old days.

A while back I found schemats for a rudimentary 3D printer and decided to try putting it together. So far so good and should be done in the next few days. I wanted to be able to make little trinkets and gizmos as a side hobby.

I'm wondering if I can't '3D Print' a case (I don't know that MY printer will have the resolution I'll need for this) for the Z10/Z30 and install magnets like the Palm/HP Pre's had with their Touchstone chargers. In theory I could install the same or similar induction coils and make a taller stand.

What would be interesting is if you could set it up so when you dock it the phone's magnets align it so metal contacts create a USB connection, too.

Something to look into.
