I recently upgraded to Blackberry Passport SE ( from almost 3 year old Q10)
I love BB10 and I will never switch until BB10 is supported.

I don't need ton of apps, but just a few that don't exist in BB World.

Especially this app: "Transit App: Real Time Tracker" by Transit App Inc.

    My device OS version: 10.3.2.2836

I followed every instruction posted by Cobalt on this forum and was able to install a couple of apps that don't need 'Google Play Services' and they are working fine.
    For example: Uber

I downloaded Cobalt's patcher on desktop and now trying to download the APKs.

That's where I am having real trouble.

    - My desktop anti-virus software keep warning/blocking most of these sites that claim to be providing the APKs
    - Finally I disabled the anti-virus and downloaded the Transit app from a site ( current version 3.9.2 but I was only able to get version 3.7 from this site)
    - I patched it using the patcher Cobalt provided in the forum
    - But when I copied the patched apk to my device and tried to install, it simply failed - saying install failed.

    - I did install the Transit app previously directly from Google Play Store but it failed to run and complains about Google Play Services.

    - I did try to uninstall it but I am not sure if it successfully uninstalled.

I desperately need this app for my daily commute to downtown Toronto.

Why is it so difficult to download apk files?

    What are my options?
Can anybody help please? Cobalt please ?

    THANK YOU !!!!

    BTW,
Thank you so much Cobalt for your time in providing your solution for loading android apps on BB10. Keep up the great work!!! I will donate

    Thank you so much Conite,
I will uninstall using your method and try it again.

Any suggestion for a decent website to download the latest apk files ?
Search on Crackberry or Google didn't seem to provide me any decent site.
All those sites seems to be weird, full of malware....

First off, BlackBerry just released an update on BBW for the Android Runtime. Just wait an hour or so.

Second, get your apps from the Google Play Store.

Great, will wait for the Android Runtime update from Blackberry.

Regarding the APK downloads, I need to download the APKs only for the apps that need Google Play Services.
Based on Cobalt's instruction, I need to patch the apk for the apps which require google play services.
So if I have to patch the apk, I can't get it from Google Play Store. Correct?

Is there a way to download APK from google play store instead of installing directly?
    I don't think so. correct?
Sorry for all the dumb questions... I am a newbie here, never tried to install android apps until I got my new Passport SE recently.
    Thanks

Cobalt's Google Play Store downloads the apk before installing. Just don't let the BB10 installer start. Copy to your PC, patch, copy back, install.

If the app doesn't need Google Play Services (and patching), use the Play Store anyway to download and install your apps. You don't need to use anything else.

Wow... Wow... Wow... That is the part I missed. I wasn't aware that I can download but not install directly from Google Play Store ( on BB10)
So after Cobalt provided the solution to run Google Play Store directly from BB10, there is no need for downloading apk files from anywhere else.

Thanks a lot Conite, you the best !!!
