    As per the title.

Video seems to open and play, the timer on the bottom plods along quite merrily, but the screen is black and there's no audio. Any suggestions? Could there be an AV codec issue?

    TIA!

P.S. Several people have mentioned this in another thread but there's been no reply yet.

Guys there are some other free wonderful apps that not only offer news feed, online streaming but it also gives you complete table and you can make your favorite team pack for live notification and updated scores. These apps are features on Gizmodo and lifehacker: Best World Cup Apps: The Top Apps for Brazil 2014 | Gizmodo UK

These are not solutions my friend. Purevpn isn't reliable or good compared to the elegance and the ease of watching on CBC this is a slap in the face from both CBC and BlackBerry. In between needing to patch virtually everything (thanks Cobalt, Sally and others), needing an iPad to work due to buggy citrix and most importantly of all (slight exaggeration) no world cup, I'm very close to selling this disappointment of a phone.

Instead of watching the opening game on my transit back home from work like everyone else is, I'm spending time and energy ******** on CrackBerry as usual about how limited our phones are. I must be masochistic lol

Deleted app, just didn't seem to be worth the bother. I'll check out some of the other options when I can.

Oh, and Svelt, both Google and Apple PAID big bucks to have this app developed and block BlackBerry and Microsoft out of the picture, they did exactly the same thing with CBC's Sochi Olympics app too. So put the blame where the blame really lies and stop with the unfounded knee-jerk populist reactions.

I.think you've got it quite backwards. Cbc paid big bucks to develop the app. Notice how it's littered full of ads? I doubt something google/apple paid for would include ads.

Does that mean google made every other ad-supported app? That's nonsense.

Cbc paid for this app, likely as a contractual obligation to getting the Canadian broadcast rights in the first place. Seems like that's the new norm for any licensing deal these days.

Nope, I don't have it the wrong way round and CBC has admitted as much. For the Sochi app there was a big hue and cry about it not being available for WP and BlackBerry, it was then that CBC admitted that Google and Apple had "sponsored" the development of the app for the two platforms but that opportunity was never afforded to Windows & BB10. In the end the CBC allowed Microsoft to chip in for the ride but only after the stuff hit the fan. BlackBerry on the other hand declined any involvement believing they shouldn't have to pay for an app that was generating income in other ways. Now the same situation arises but this time both Google and Apple have "exclusivity" agreements with CBC preventing them for even offering the app to the other 2 platforms.

It seems you are more informed than the rest of us here. Would you mind to cite your sources?

On the app issue, CBC is tacitly acknowledging BlackBerry is done.

It should be mentioned that the Sochi app worked really well on BB10. This, not so much.

It worked ok, but it was a battery hog just like any Android app you install.

I work in a parallel industry to broadcast and have a lot of contacts all over the industry. This is public knowledge though, at least about the Sochi app.

I don't necessarily agree with you about CBC giving up on BlackBerry as it's the primary device by far within the company, all their national and local reporters are carrying 9900s or Q10s, I genuinely think this has more to do with the financial state of the organisation and that any extra income is viewed positively, so much so they'd probably sell Peter Mansbridge's left kidney to raise a buck or two.

But does it play the videos and live streaming? On my Z30 with the latest 10.2, the videos just show a black screen after the advertisements.

Btw you can always visit the CBC website and stream the game from there. Worked great for me yesterday.
