Has anyone seen this? It would be nice to see if the plug-in would work on BB10 devices!

at this time i dont think there is any way for bb10 to interact with it. Mine will be here tomorrow to play with and find out what all the device can do :)
Perhaps the Chromecast Android App can be sideloaded. We'll try once we get our devices. I'm still waiting on mine.
The current Chromecast - require Chrome browser - and basically pushes the Chrome screen to the Chromecast receiver... (which also require a separate power connector...)
and is very restricted in way it works ... currently any content you want to push onto your TV - needs to be viewed in a Chrome browser.. so no non-web games etc...
Better solution is to get a Miracast device, connect to your HDMI TV... Support is built in to BB10.2 which is not to far away...
Miracast is open standard already supported by many hardware- and software makers...
Including BlackBerry10.2, Android, iOS, Windows, Osx, Linux etc...

Is this what your talking bout if so I'm ready to purchase.
I see it uses dlna.

I use this:Panasonic DMP-MST60 Smart Network Media Streaming Player with Built-In Wi-FiDLNA is not the same as Miracast, but Miracast supports DLNA... but searc for Miracast and you find plenty options
Be careful. A lot of devices claim claim to support Miracast but don't. That one just supports DLNA.
This one works and is from a reputable source:
Full HD 1080P WiFi Display Dongle HDMI Wireless PTV Support DLNA / Miracast - GeekBuying.com
Or else, try the Netgear or Actiontec solutions but they cost more.
update on chromecast? i just got mine today.
another thread posted that the youtube app is working...
You can use youtube sideload, but i think that is it
Just download the youtube remote apk, convert and sideload it. I use it all the time. Additionally if you have an htpc, you could use many of the remote control applications on the market to control an entire pc instead of just videos from the cloud.
What about this Aircast app? Could it work on bb10?

it might but we have to convert and see
try this for pc use

The AirCast app doesn't work..tried it. At the moment, the Chromecast app does work sideloaded but I really can't find anything that will cast...There is this new app that runs on JRE (fling) which allows you to run most media from a pc to chromecast. It would be possible to then be remoted into that pc and basically run something....
I was able to side load the app ?
just ran the google play link through the apk downloader and installed it onto my Q10 from the apk file I saved in my dropbox app and it works perfectly so far
What works perfectly?? Chromecast?
I can't seem to get it to work...
I can get YouTube to work. No luck with Netflix, plex, or Hbo go functionality with the chromecast

I known this is an old thread, but is there any new luck with this?
I've loaded it through Snap but it never finds my ChromeCast
Youtube doesn't even work on mine, nevermind the rest of the apps. Still have no idea how others got their Chromecast button to show up on the Youtube app.
Is this still a dead issue? I couldn't find anything on here that suggests anything different.
Yep. Dead.
If I were to take a guess, it's that that with a lack of Google services and the older Android runtime, but even the full OS, this is not happening.
