As many know, 10.3 automatically scans android apks using BlackBerry Guardian to supposedly determine if they're safe to install. I've installed over two dozen android apps from various sources (amazon, snap, SD card, patched with gmaps patcher, etc.) and it had never given me a warning (all it says "scanning is complete"), until today.

I was about to reinstall the Rhapsody apk, and I was surprised to see a different message from BlackBerry Guardian. What's interesting is that I've been using the Rhapsody app first on my Z10, Q10 and now Z30, ever since the 'early' days when we had to convert apks to bars. As far as I can tell it never really did anything shady other than maybe lag here and there (as most other Android apps did).

Anyway... I had never seen BlackBerry Guardian Say anything so I find it quite interesting:

Guardian isn't perfect and often tags well known apps. Consider it a guide more so then definitive suggestions.

Yup... I was just amused to see it actually return something positive. In the earlier leaks it didn't even work, then it just started saying "scanning complete" (an interesting way of saying "looks OK, but... you're still on your own buddy").

Anyway, I'm pretty sure Rhapsody is fine, and it works quite nicely in 10.3.0.1052 .
