As a BlackBerry 10 user we have the advantage of the fact that any Android app we install runs essentially inside a sand box that is separate from the BlackBerry 10 system files, so even if there is malware it shouldn't affect your device. We also have BlackBerry Defender which scans each Android app prior to installation and checks it with their malware database. If you are really concerned, there are a couple good anti-virus apps out there that will also scan Android apps for bugs. It's really a whole lot safer than using an Android device.

No, the scanner checks for apps which do things like farm to much data or steal your number via SMS.

Mostly, they're pointing out that their tool (Massvet) does a more thorough job of scanning than Google's tools.
