There is an Android app I use a lot so I decided to be a good user and purchase the licensed version. Instead of getting a new app .apk, I am provided a separate .apk that is the license key. When I attempt to install it I get "Unable to install this app".

Does anyone know of a way to apply this key? This has persisted through three versions of BB OS.

This isn't critical as the app works fine without the key, and I've done my good deed by paying the developer. I'd just like to know how to do it, if this has been solved by someone else.

Doing this on a Classic SQC100-4 with (as of a few minutes ago)

This is the same thing I'm trying to figure out. Cobalt "one of crackberries programmers" told me that it had to do with the. Apk not having a launch action. We would need to see if he has any time to look into this.

Indeed in most cases you can fix that by adding a dummy activity to the app code and then put a reference to it in android manifest. Then declare it as launchable.

Thanks. I'll dig into that when I get some spare time. My coding days were long ago.
