SlingPlayer is $15 and I want to make sure before I try to buy it via SNAP that it will work BB10. Anyone attempt this yet and if so what are the results?

You can not purchase paid apps from SNAP, but you can search around online for the sling player app or post your bbpin or an email and ill send you the .apk

OK just wanted to update the thread. I bought some Google Play cards today, went online and bought SlingPlayer via the Play store, and installed on my Z10 with SNAP after that. Works great. May update my older Slingbox Solo with one of the newer models at some point in the near future.

Another update. Was too soon. Saw this when I went to watch hockey this morning:

Anyone use SNAP to get SlingPlayer yet?-img_20140218_082514.png

Had to delete the app and reinstall for it to work. Apparently the license file isn't getting stored properly on the device. Will have to check with BlackBerry on this.

The license key is stored on the Google server and needs Google Services installed on your device. The same issue with VNC Viewer.

Question, how did you get around the fact that slingplayer is a paid app? I was under the impression that paid android apps won't work on BlackBerry.
I don't mind paying the $14.99 for the app if it will work on my BlackBerry but how do I get to that point?

You CAN buy an app, but you have to use either the Web browser or a PC and purchase it first. Then download and install with Snap. I have obtained the Stormshield app that way.

Ya that makes sense. I'll purchase it off google play through pc and in pretty sure I can download it to pc from Google play. If so I'll just transfer it to my z30 and install.

It will only work for a period of time. Delete the app and reinstall... works this way for me

You can also try installing the google play services login apk, and Google play store apk, both found here (and maybe a Gmail apk to facilitate the login process):

    http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?p=10175045

Sometimes if these two are installed and you're logged into your Google account through the google login services, you'll pass the license check.

For anyone who tries this, keep us posted how this goes.

Until you close the app. Always does the validation check the second time. Just delete and re-install

if thats the case i'm happy to say it looks like it might be working fine on .700 runtime. i've opened it multiple times and it works (although i haven't watched for too long due to q10 screen size).

So I take it the only workaround is delete, reinstall? I mean at least it's a means to getting it to work, but it's an annoying means. :\
