In the older runtime it was possible to adjust font size in android player using 3rd party apps, but not in the new one. I wonder if BB will ever add a function that hooks into the android player to adjust this? Any hope for that, or other suggestions?
Maybe I've just been unlucky with some of the Android apps I've tried that do not have their own internal font size settings, and seem to default to a tiny font on my Z10.
Maybe I should have saved up for a Z30.
I am able to use the Accessibility magnification zoom within the Android apps, so that can be helpful in a pinch. Not ideal though, since it then involves extra side to side scrolling.
Go to Ghost Commander or install an Android Launcher and go to Android Settings. Display, Font Size and select as desired. You can see the change in the attached snapshots taken on Google Search on my BlackBerry Z10.
Thank you very much for the suggestions! It's good to know there is hope. I installed Ghost Commander but am not quite sure how to get to the Android Settings to make the change?
I also tried Zeam Launcher. I easily found the font size in Settings/Display, and experimented. It definitely makes a difference, although Huge still looks significantly smaller than say for instance a native BB10 font size of 12.
Does tweaking the font size in Ghost Commander require root access?
Thanks.
Ghost commander is the best, click the page horizontally until you get to the apps screen then find system settings long press it and select launch then display and voila. Photos of each step attached
Thank you so much for the detailed instructions with screenshots! Very kind. Ghost Commander is neat!
These Android system settings are some help, but ultimately don't let me bump up the font as much as a 3rd party app like Big Font used to in the older versions of Android.
I will say the results vary by application. Some of them may perhaps not be coded to respond properly to the system settings, or don't enforce a minimum font.
