I was using cascarun for awhile. I think it has hrm with blue tooth. Worth checking out. It is a good app
I've been tempted by that app and have been following the forum thread for months now. What I like about miCoach is the ability to do intervals and have the app prompt when I'm straying out of the predetermined pace zones. I'd like to start doing the same type of intervals but by heart rate zone rather than pace. I don't think CascaRun does intervals or zone coaching - just updates at set frequencies.

Version of Micoach in the OP is the one i decompiled so as to strip out Google Maps dependencies. That was required for earlier versions of 10.2.1. Now, the apk installs fine without it. But there are still Google dependencies that may affect operation.

I tried running by using the native music player and it didn't crash but every time the voice coach came on it would pause the music. I'd have to hit play again to resume.

Everything else works great. So close on this one....!
New version is out. Seems like playlists work now! I've updated the OP accordingly.

Couple of things tried since the last update. I've gone to a hybrid of 10.3.0.296 (base) and .442 (radio, apps, runtime) and miCoach still worked. I've also just updated to the latest version of miCoach (2.4.2.16617) and installed without patching. Playlists work. Route has the same issue as previously: maps show (OpenStreet) with start and end flags but no trace of the run. Presumably, if I patched the app, I'd get the track too but I haven't tried that yet.

I realize I'm talking to myself on this thread but in case anyone is still following, my Q10 with 10.3.1.2072 and miCoach 3.2.1.a9cf99 works quite well with Mio Alpha. I haven't tried controlling the intervals with heart rate as this morning's run was my first with the Alpha. However, the app did record a pretty decent HR profile so there isn't any reason that it shouldn't work.

I'm a rather dedicated user of miCoach, and I would love to stay with the app since it just works really well for me in what it does; however, despite its pros, I'm debating a swift out. I have 10.3.1.2072 on my Z10, the problem is that the app takes forever to load and when it does, it takes another while to actually start working correctly. Is this a Z10 issue? Or have others experienced this as well but found some sort of way to work around it (aside from tested patience)?

It has been hit-and-miss for me. Sometimes it responds quite well and other times it is infuriatingly slow. Usually once I have selected an activity, it is reasonably responsive. I have other android apps that do this too so it is just how BlackBerry has implemented the android runtime. I haven't tried the latest OS leak yet to see if it is better.
For now, I guess patience is the solution. I don't know of another app that does the same things. Certainly not a native one.

Yeah, from my OS leak, it looks like it doesn't get any better. Is the version of miCoach in the OP the version that you're currently running? I may just downgrade miCoach since the app is pretty much the same, just more aesthetically pleasing and would lose the calendar options which I can do online anyway... It's the best that I have found for what it does, it's truly a shame they have stopped supporting BB after OS10.

I'm currently running micoach ver 3.2.1a9cf99. That is almost the most recent one.

So after playing around with the sound buttons as the app was loading I discovered that miCoach took so long to load because it kept getting interrupted by the screen dimming. If you increase the time it takes to dim the screen, the app still takes a while to load but when it does, it works flawlessly without any "app not responding errors." I've been using the most up to date version of miCoach and it's so much less frustrating this way. Figured I'd add an update.

You are right - increasing the duration until the screen dims does help. Still, seems to be taking longer to launch with each newer version of micoach.
Tried today and micoach works with 10.3.2.500 but it took 2-3 minutes before the app was finally open and useable.

I'm alsof a huge fan of the app and the only remaining problem that bothers me is run track... I've patched the app, downloaded Google account-app, Google framework service -app, Google -maps and Google settings-app ...but only the flags appear on the map, the track still doesn't!

Can this be fixed...or are we all just screwed regarding this .

I read them prior to posting my question... yesterday I tried for hours to get this fixed but Gmaps couldn't patch it, lucky patcher don't work either and installing some google apk-stuff like Cobalt suggest in a huge thread don't work either.

Anyone with some suggestions regarding this? (micoach available on snap: 3.4.3ff1e8e and running BB 10.3.1.1779 on Leap device)

I'm a long time Micoach user but gave up on the newest versions because they wouldn't load on my Passport or Z30. Does anyone have any experience with the newest BB10 OS and the Micoach version on Snap or Amazon?

Saw the tips on screen dimming, etc already
