I'm just curious. My Curve didn't. I had to buy it separately.
In some unboxing videos and what I gather from other people some phones have a belt or pocket case included.
Is it dependent on phone model or carrier or maybe both?

Thats not entirely true, because 9800 (Torch) doesn't include a case in the packaging.

It depends on if the carrier wants to be nice or not.

The carrier theory makes sense. My Sprint Curve came with a holster.
