I know that avi files don't work on BB. What is the best conversion file and individual settings? I own a blackberry pearl 3G which has a 360x400 screen.

Download a copy of Format Factory to your PC and use it to format your AVI files, and many others. There are settings for your screen size, etc.

DoubleTwist does it all by dragging and dropping. No settings to tweak at all.

Any Video Convertor does aaaaaaall that + any screen sizes/resolutions +from any file type to any file type

+ rips You Tube clips straight off web page by simply drag/drop
+ rip video to audio (e.g. rip You tube video to mp3 - great for ring tones)

...or you can just try it as-is. I've been dumping my AVI files onto my 16GB SD MicroSD card since I got my 9700, and most play just fine. Might not be the best space-wise, but there's no harm in trying.
