I gotta think sites like this are sooo hard to keep up, but it IS a big web out there,
I'm sure a couple more will pop up and fill in for a bit....

Actually, from what the other CB user (who I think runs the site) said, it was taken down because of too many complaints from the MPAA. Not too surprising when you run a website that hosts files or links to files that are copyrighted material... especially if you are ripping and converting the stuff yourself. You're just begging for people to turn you in.

If anyone is looking for videos or music for your BB, IMO your best bet is to use Bit Torrent. You have access to almost everything out there and you have a lot more safeguards you can implement to protect yourself. It's probably more of a DIY approach for most here, but nothing good is ever easy.

I went to www.bittorrent.com, but it appears to have software and services for PCs, Macs, and Linux, but have been unable to find anything that could be considered mobile or BB-compatible. Am I at the wrong site? If I'm not, can someone explain where exactly the links/options are in the site to get to these BB videos that are mentioned above?
    Thanks!

If you're looking for preformatted BB videos, Bittorrent isn't the place. Like I mentioned, it's a more DIY approach. You have access to everything that is out there you could want, but you have to download it and convert it yourself. If you want ready to load BB videos, then just look around in the Movies/Videos section of the forum.. people post links there. Just keep an eye out for viruses and sketchy download sites.

Yeah....most of the links in the forum appear to be from megaupload....I almost always grab a little malware when visiting that site. Nothing terribly destructive and nothing that can't be cleaned easily with Spybot S&D.

Sorry if I am a little slow, have not seen the term DIY ouside a hardware store. From what I am interpreting from the posts here; DIY equals having to save up for a PC and installing a bunch of conversion software, entailing a lot of extra expense, effort, and equipment outside of a BB. This doesn't sound logical to me, am wondering where I made my mistake in analyzing the info?

I'm not sure where your mistake is either, but if you don't have a PC, then you are going to have issues loading videos to your Blackberry, whether you 'Do It Yourself' or use preformatted videos from Megaupload and the like. You can't download videos using your device, they are much too large. You have to download them with a PC and then transfer them to the memory card in your Blackberry. If you don't have a PC, your only other option is just to go to the mobile youtube site or download one of the youtube apps from app world and watch whatever you can stream from there.

Actually, before Videos4Blackberry went down, I had no trouble DLing videos up to an hour in length OTA from them, so TV shows were no problem. I still have half a season each of Weeds and True Blood (each hour-long episode was a 70-80 MB .3gp video file that DLed OTA very easily), and the entire first season of The Muppet Show, on media cards that were all DLed OTA from V4BB. Theoretically, all a BB video provider would need to do to allow OTA DLs, would be to provide an option of a 2-hour .3gp movie broken down into 2 files of an hour each, which would be way better than the 10min limit on YouTube, where you have to watch 9 or 10 files to watch one movie like Saving Grace (British movie, not American TV show).

Sorry to disagree however, you are commiting a crime anytime you download something for free even though the true owner doesn't want you to. So when you steal a movie, you're a thief. Now, what do we call people that a assist criminals? We call them accessories to the crime. So, help me steal a movie and you're a criminal. You can get in trouble whether you host the download or pay someone else to host it a la megaupload.

Oh, note that megaupload-esque files can be "ota" as can any file you download from you blackberry. Megaupload itself isnt working at the moment, on my opera mini beta 5 so I wouldn't be able to download big movies from my storm however that does not excuse the person that put the file there for the public. I think liability could even extend to the megaupload site if they were Proven to be complacent in the face of evidence that they were hosting copyrighted materials. Certainly it is true that sites with direct downloads are likely to get shut down faster however it has nothing to do with culpability and everything to do with just how much easier it is to prove guilt.

Now I am in no way attempting to discourage anyone from doing any of this stuff-i myself observe fairly loose ethical boundaries. I just feel it's important you know it's at best morally questionable and at worse downright illegal-depending on where you live, I suppose.

Having said this, I look forward to a site with the functionality of mobile pornhub (running opera beta 5 on storm 5.0(bolt works too)) but with content I can watch a little more comfortably while in public :-)

Who's the schmuck, lol. Why's he on Crackberry? Errr, the name itself should give a hint as to the nature of the site. In my defense, I'm a poor college student who definitely can't afford the prices for 'original content' and it doesn't hurt them. They're huge marketing machines anyhow.

Well, porn sites are way ahead of ya, lol. Sad that there isn't a site allowing downloads. Hope one turns up soon.
