This is probably a stupid question, but:

After I upgraded to 5.0 on my Storm 1, some of my video files had names like when I ripped them originally. On my PC the names are correct and on the phone they are correct when I check them through Files or try to rename them, but when I go into Video they are wrong.

It's starting to drive me a little crazy. I've tried renaming them on the PC and phone but it doesn't fix the problem.

For example, the movie Observe and Report. The file has the name Observe and Report on my PC, in the Files section on the phone and when I try to rename it, Observe and Report comes up. When I go into Video, it comes up OBSERVE_AND_REPORT 0140.

Anyone else had/having the same problem or know how to fix it?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Unfortunately I am having the same problem. Even when exploring the folder with the phone's OS it looks right. In the past you could delete the "bbthumbs.dat" file to get it to refresh but now it doesn't help.

Just wanted to update with the solution that I found. Turns out there is a tag associated with the file kind of like the tags that are on mp3's. I believe its called something along the lines of meta tag or metadata tag. Anyway after downloading a free tag editor I could change the title part of the file to whatever I wanted the blackberry to list the name as.
    Hope this helps.

Sweet! Thanks for the update. I'll give it a try.

Edit: Forgot to ask, which software did you go with?

I'm glad that I remembered about this thread and that it could help someone else. I spent quite a while being tormented with this one and finding no answers with any searches. More than happy to help someone else with it. The program that I have found the easiest to work with is "Mp3tag" It can be found at Mp3tag - Download
