Thoughts on Otterbox Commuter Case and Customer Service
I know that there are other threads about this topic, but I'd like to touch on many topics that one individual thread hasn't covered.
1) I like the case, as it has done its job well. It has saved my phone from falling on concrete.
2) The front slider piece broke, so I contacted them. It took 3ish days for them to respond via email, but they were speedy at returning my replies. The entire process took about a week, and they shipped one to me free of charge. (Their customer service was pretty good.)
3) I have found that the bottom piece extrudes a bit too much and cause the keyboard to be cramped. I used a fine grit sand paper to resolve this issue.
4) I don't like the mundane, black color. Has anyone tried painting any of their cases?
5) The slider piece moves around a little bit. Therefore, if you don't keep it pristinely clean, it will leave micro scratches on the shiny part of the phone. To prevent it from moving so much, I used a couple pieces of double sided tape.
Hopefully this helps people!
