I just got the Vaja Ivolution case for my Storm and have an issue, if any others know how to fix it.
It seems my Storm's click screen and 4 hard buttons don't respond to my pressing when the Storm is in the case, but when it take it out, it works perfectly fine.
Additionally, the phone is sometimes slow to wake up from sleep mode when I open the flap with the sleeper magnet.
Any thoughts anyone? Thanks.

If you did the torx trick or have done the card trick, you need to fix/reverse it.

I've not done any alterations like the torx or card tricks. I think you're thinking the same thing I'm thinking, which is the case is putting extra pressure on the Storm, making the click-screen and hard buttons less responsive. Odd, considering Ithink the case doesn't grab the Storm's casing THAT hard, and only on the sides of the bottom eighth of the device. Any more ideas, anyone?

Yep I had that issue with a case, had to fix the mod's that I did to my phone and it was fine. You may have to tighten up the screws? Other than that, just leave the phone in it for as long as possible to stretch it out etc... should be fine over a weeks time

I notice the very bottom is "hard" to push, otherwise ok. I'm a little disappointed with the case, comparing it with my previous Vaja case. It is not as heavy duty. I really am skeptical that it has a sleeper magnet in it; it is inconsistent at best. I don'tlike the front of the case coming off the top rather than the bottom. The clip is really hard to open for removal and placement. It really fits well though, and looks very nice. I will have gotten it a week ago tomorrow, so, I will give it some more time.

I posted this in the other Vaja thread but I'll post it here as well. The buttons aren't responding because the case is putting enough pressure on the camera button that the phone thinks the button is being held down I believe.

My case needed break-in. It was very tight initially even though I use no skin on my phone. When I initially put it on the buttons would not respond. There is no cut out for the right side camera button. All other buttons hae cut outs so you can directly touch them. For the camera button instead they tool or otherwise create an indentation in the leather for the camera button and leave a soft area that you can push through it to activate the button. Since the leather is initially so tight, it holds down the camera button so that the other buttons including the click screen don't respond. I inserted the phone in several times (maybe 10 times) until the leather button depression was worked in enough that it no longer put too much pressure on the camera button and all the buttons on the phone began responding properly.

Also the magnet is a thin bar imbedded in the top of the case. I would prefer it if the magnet were more powerful. The case has to be fully closed and the top has to be flush with the phone for it to enter sleep mode. When I initially inserted the phone, there was a 1 mm space between the glass and the magnet. This meant that the phone didn't enter sleep mode reliably every time I closed the top cover unless I made sure to squeeze it flush. In a pocket it would be fine but sitting on a table I always had to make sure it was fully closed. I used a heavy flat object and placed it on top of the top cover with my phone inside for 5 minutes and the tiny gap is totally gone and the magnet working perfectly. I compared it to an magnet I salvaged from my old Seideio holster and it is much more powerful and if I attach it to the front cover of the Vaja case it causes the phone to enter sleep mode well before the case is fully closed. I would hope that Vaja includes a more powerful magnet in future cases.

One additional quick solution to the magnet issue would be to salvage the magnet from a holster. I had a broken Seidio holster I could pull the magnet from. The Seidio magnet is a flat metal disk. I attach the disk to the inside of the front flap against the long thin bar embedded in the top which is the weaker Vaja magnet. I don't even have to glue it since the magnets are strong enough to stick together well and now the sleeper mode works perfectly even if you don't fully close the top. Or you can use my method of flattening out the top over to ensure there is no gap between the magnet and the glass.

-Case looks excellent and fits like a glove.
-The overall function as a protective case is superb
-The phone is still "slick", slides easily into a pocket (i don't have the clip) and is barely bigger.

Cons:
- Sleeper magnet definitely does not work (at least not on mine). The magnet is there; either not strong enough or does not get close enough to the phone (see note below).
- The front flap does not rest flat against the back of the phone. My guess is that its not a break-in issue; the leather hinge is simply not long enough to allow it.

Details:
For better or worse, its the only case option that met my criteria (full screen coverage w/o having to resort to a pocket/sleeve type of case).

Magnet - Kyopo was dead on: If the cover is pushed in a bit, it does then work. Its almost like the front cover is a bit too concave (when looked at from the inside face)...if it flattens out over time this would put the magnet closer to the screen and thus work reliably. Obviously a stronger magnet shoulve been considered.

Flap: I'm not so sure the fact that the flap doesn't rest flat is a totally bad thing. *If* it did fold all the way over, Landscape mode may be more difficult. I think your left hand (buttons=right hand) would be spaced away to the left from the top of the phone. As it is now: because the flap rests open a bit, you can grip w/ your left hand normally (flap not in the way). Your middle and index finger on your right hand just rest on the flap which is a bit raised vs. resting directly on the back of the phone. But i think the right hand can get used to that.

I will try to post more info after i've used it a bit.

[EDIT] - I heard back from Vaja. The rep said that they have not heard of / experienced a problem w/ the magnet. They are looking into the issue. So send them a message if you're having the problem; i'm really hoping they are willing to send a fixed model...

I really appreciate this feedback re: the sleeper magnet. Is it the thin, skinny, retangular bump in the face plate of the cover? It is in the middle of the face cover portion. It does work if I press it against the glass. Guess I need to find something heavy to squish it so it will make contact all the time.

Thanks for this info! I just send them a suggestion comment telling them of the problems I've had with the magnet, and the other things I found disappointing. I hope they pay attention. There is supposed to be a 1 yr warranty, but don't know if it applies cuz the magnet doesn't work well...It's still a nice case, just not all I'd expected it to be from my previous experience with a Vaja case....

Thanks for the advice kyopo. I think the side with the camera button has been the culprit, and now the case has been broken in a bit more and I'm not getting the lag that I was.
As for the magnet, I've actually not been having issues with it and the cover is effectively putting my Storm to sleep. I guess Vaja made my case a little too well, hence the original topic of the thread.
So far, I love the case. As for landscape, I just flip the flap around, and just got used to it being there.
