Got my Storm in February of 2009, I bought screen protectors and had them on until about two months ago. Haven't had one on for two months. I keep my phone in a case mate slip on skin, no protection for the screen. I keep it in my pocket with , change, money clip, and occasionally keys. So far no scratches and no worse for the wear. My experience is that the screen is pretty resistant to scratches and nicks.
