I hope some one can help me....I had close to 50 or 60 ring tones downloaded on to my phone some of which were set as personalized ring tones. My daughter's number had a special ring tone which worked yesterday when she called but his morning when she called it rang with the bb ringer_classicphone, I thought that was friggin weird so I checked all my numbers that had personalized ring tones and they were all set to the ringer_classicphone. Then I checked and ALL of the downloaded ring tones are gone! So this has me concerned and I just opened my camera and I got a pop up but it was gone too fast but it said something about media files... and the only pictures I have in device memory are 15 pictures and those 15 are not even my most recent pictures that I have taken and there are close to 100 that are gone completely now too! Please someone who is bb savvy help me figure out what I need to do!

    Thanks, Satay

    Pull out media card.

    Reinsert.

    Batterypull is optional.
    Enjoy.

It says media card can not be accessed due to fatal errors. OMG, this is sounding horrible!

did you battery pull? might want to do again. also, try using the data cable and see if your computer recognizes the phone as an external drive as normal. if not the media card is most likely corrupted and needs replacing. there could be a virus on the media card, attached to some picture or ringtone downloaded. can you think of anything that you recently added to the device that might be the cause?

I don't open attachments on my email from my bb and I only connect the phone to my laptop when I am uploading pics from my phone to the laptop. yesterday I was accessed a Calgary Flames website and played a couple games of word mole and that was it. Is there a hidden place where files are hidden?

yes, but as far as i know you have to manually hide the file yourself through the properties option. do the media card pull again, then battery pull, then try to connect to your computer and see if it shows up. that'll tell you what you need to know. again, i'm guessing you'll need to replace your card.

Dang. Did you not backup anywhere? If you really need the data, then try to pull it out that way. But if not then I looks like you can use a memory card reader to pull ou the data or format the card.

Doubtful. I think the previous posters have hit the nail on the head and your memory card has gone bad. You can try going into options / memory, hitting the menu button and selecting "repair" to try to fix the errors. You can also try connecting the BB to a computer and using it to attempt a repair.

Even if you do get your files back, I would back everything up right away and replace the memory card. Developing errors usually isn't a one-time thing.

    Good luck!

thanks for the advice! When I get home from work, I'll try hooking it up to the computer and removing the battery and memory card again to see if that fixes it. I will let you know in case others have the same problem.

Wipe, reload OS and restore the most recent backup like the other one above said. Use loader.exe to do it, found in: C:/program files/common files/research in motion/blackberry/

All my profiles kept going silent. I had to remove the battery for it to restore. I went back to the Bell store, got a new pone 3 times, new media and sim cards. I FINALLY discovered the issue myself. It's the word mole game, i had to remove it completely. I even re-installed and deleted it a few times to make sure.

The OP said earlier that he had just played Word Mole before it screwed up!

    Try deleting it,
