EZ as pie.
BlackBerryTrade.com Mobile
MaxMem.
You'll be clear of the clutter in no time flat.
The preinstalled ring tones on the pearl are part of the core OS and should not be deleted. Might want to make sure about yours first. I can't see your model as I am on wap.

im on 8900
I don't know about that device. I would check in the 8900 forums to make sure before you delete them. However the stock ring tones are in a compressed format and take up very little space. I don't think you would gain a lot of memory by deleting them.

1) My Computer> Local Disk(C)> Program Files> Common Files> Research in Motion> Shared> Loader Files> [your device-your current os]> Java> "net_rim_bb_medialoader_ringtones_89xx."
2) Within the Java folder, create a folder called "Removed Modules" or something similar so you understand what its contents will be. Then, find the "net_rim_bb_..." and move that cod file into the newly created folder. DO NOT DELETE IT
3) Finally, connect your BlackBerry, open desktop manager, and run Application Loader, hit Next, then hit Finish, once you hit Finish, it should say that it is removing the module that you moved and when it has completed and you disconnect your device the preloaded ringtones should be removed.
To reverse, simply place the cod file back where it was and repeat step 3 :)
I tried maxmem and for removing default ringtones and wallpapers in my 8900 and it left the names of the tones and papers but deleted the sounds and pics associated with those names (if that makes sense)
So doing it as you described will it clear the names from my phone, too?
Thanks
After you select Application Loader, theres two choices:
Add/Remove Applications and Update Software
Each has below it a button that says Start
Just thought I would point that out in case someone new (like myself) got lost and wondered why theirs is different...
So which path do you recommend choosing or both come out the same?
