Can the belt clip be removed?

Why would you want to remove the belt clip? That would essentially break the protective cover for the battery inside the case.

I don't see why you would.

I would just want to use it as a protective cover/extra battery, I wouldn't carry it on my belt and the clip would just get in the way.
