On the Verizon website, under Pearl accessories, there is an otterbox case for $9.97, however the Otterbox site only has the 'defender' case for $49.95 (on sale for $39/95). I'm wondering if they are the same case. The price difference seems to point to no, but I can't find any info on a case for the Pearl by Otterbox that isn't a defender.

i ordered one the other day. i love it. with my discount it was less then 7 dollars.
I emailed otterbox and asked if I could get the yellow plastic stuffs that the silicone goes onto, and they said no go...

OtterBox Defender for $7?!? Buy it!!! Just make sure its for your Pearl, there are two versions. One is for the 8100, the other is for the 8110/8120/8130. That's a fantastic price though! Out of the three OtterBox cases I've had (8110/8310/9000) the Pearl's is the most well engineered.

Yeah that is very low. I got mine for 45 dollars last year from a retailler on Ebay. Hopefully it comes with all the pieces.
I went ahead and ordered it, should be here tomorrow. I'll let you know if it is the same one. I do think it may come without the holster because it wasn't mentioned anywhere on the site. Either way if it is the defender, i'll be very happy.
If it comes without the holster, I recommend upgrading to the HD holster from otterbox unless you need the rotation of the origional holster. I'm pretty rough on phones, and the spring clip on my stock level holster has begun to get loose and shaky.

It is definitely the Otterbox Defender. It comes in packaging that says "Verizon Rugged Case" but when you open it it has Otterbox instructions and otterbox is written on the case and holster. It comes with the holster and everything.
So yea, if you want an otterbox case for your Pearl, follow the link that FJL307 posted to get it for 9.99 instead of 39.99+
