I have one on the way from Clarivue, and I'll probably use it to protect from hairline scratches, but it really doesn't "need" one as badly as the 8900 did. It has a plastic cover over the LCD screen, so it's like the 8320.

I got the BodyGuarz two pack ... I haven't put it on yet but I will today. I've used this brand on other devices and it has the least orange peel effect of anything similar in my experience such as Invisible Shield or BSE. We'll see how it looks on my latest purchase.

i never used a screen protector until i scratched the screen on my 8300 curve, now i always use them, have a BSE coming for the 9700 when that comes in, full body kit, just keeps it looking like new, and might as well spend $4.99 on a screen protector when the unit is worth like $600

The 9700 has smooth nicely bevelled edges, I am not sure if the screen protector is going to spoil that, based on my experience with Treo Pro.

I would really like to keep it without, but not exactly sure yet.

Waiting for the Martin Fields overlay for the 9700 to come out then ill put that on...by far the best screen protector out there in my opinion...i have one on my S2 and 9000 Bold and its very good.

At the moment im without mine, sent it back for a replacement but until they bring one out for the 9700 ill just use the standard screen cover they ship with.

I got a cheap mirrored protector from ebay & the darn thing SCRATCHED when I ran the included card over it to get the bubbles out! VERY unhappy. It was $7 including shipping & I couldn't even use it! I'm looking for another, but will get something that's recommended by the masses.

ive only used the ZAGG IS but it works great, and every review ive seen hre says the BSE are the same just way less expensive, so i have ordered the one from BSE, also if you order by the end of today its only $4.99 but today only, and free shipping if you order 3 or more skins

I think since the 9700 has a very durable screen, the biggest reason to put a protector on it is for resale value. I always sell my unlocked devices (already have my 9700 unlocked, too) when I upgrade, so it's nice to have a scratch/mark free phone.

The beveled edges on our 9700's screens will look nasty with a screen protector (Unless the screen protector is curved to accomadate the edges--which I doubt) and I will not be using a protector. It would bug me. Maybe you guys can post pics when you get yours so we can tell.

but if you must I found these for $3: Amazon.com Phones/Smartphones Blackberry 9700 Onyx Bold 2 Screen Protectors
