Could not find a previous thread about this which makes me think I'm doing something basic to cause it. Anyway, here's the issue:
Generally, I prefer to have my device notify me audibly at all times of an incoming email/SMS/BBM/Calendar Alert, etc. whether its in the holster or not. Recently, the Play Sound option changes itself from "Always" to "Out of Holster" even though I save the option as "Always". As a result, I am not getting a sound when it's in the holster--even though I've set it to "Always" (because it changes itself!).
Also, it's not every email account or SMS or BBM which changes on it's own each time. I've tried to figure out if it's related to putting it in or taking it out of the holster, but I can't seem to find any relationship.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
Edit: Think the problem is that the "normal" setting had some settings which were set to "Out of Holster", so I may have solved my own problem.
I think when in a BB holster the device goes into sleep/standby mode and will not make noise but it should if the screen is locked or dimmed out.
Are you modifying one of the default profiles? If you are create a new profile the way you want it and see what happens. Other have reported changes reverting when modifying one of the default sound profiles.

Thanks! Apparently not editing the default profiles was my problem. Guess I'm a donut, too!
