I have not owned am 8900 but i do have the defender on my tour. It is a wonderful case, as i emailed otterbox, i was in an accident recently and my case was torn up pretty bad, the silicone was trashed, the screen protector and plastic shell were cracked. But the phone is still flawless. Works perfectly. This case saved my phones life, yes it adds considerable bulk and some weight. But it does come with its own holster. I say go for it. Otter box should make cases for every phone.
