This customer service rep was unfortunately misinformed, we have not discontinued this product. As always, listening to our customers is a top priority and we are still investigating reports of issues with certain aspects of the OtterBox Defender Series� for BlackBerry� Bold� 9900 series.


So take that as if you have an issue with this case. Please let them know!

Still, this seems like a pat PR response. This screams "keep it quiet while we redesign it" to me. Seems like maybe there should be a recall, but you know how the business world works...cost vs service.
