    ok correct me if I am wrong but I have the defender case for the 9630 and cant I just use that without the gaurd over the keys?

    You are not wrong. I am using my Tour Defender case on my Bold without the plastic guard over the keys.

    Which of these cases (or another brand) leaves the keyboard open but covers the screen? I like to feel the buttons as I text.

    i had a bodyglove case on my curve and it had an open keyboard but a nice thick screen protector on it.

    loved that case.
