im a newbie, i too just bought one for my 8310. But I was only able to format upto 4gb? I'm guessing that I have to upgrade my OS to 4,5 first, but if I do that, what are the features that I loose? any themes?

I also got mine for about 40 from Amazon. Came with that little mini card reader! (not sure where it is because I never use it!)

I have had it for some time now and I love it!

I have a no tech background. Can I use a 8GB on a 8830 running 4.2.2.148? I have 17915739 bytes available. Could/would some explain what that means in a none tech answer?

Thanks, as always! Tring to learn @ this BB, just so much to do!

Short answer, I think you need to update your OS for an 8GB card to work with your phone, although I'm not 100% certain on that.
The 17915739 bytes that you show are device memory, and are independent of storage, which is what your card would be.

    ahhh.. check this:
