Ok. I went running with these and used pandora. Its like the songs would periodically lose connection. The song was still playing but the transmission kept getting interrupted. Also did this with normal music I downloaded. What gives?

The range when outdoors is between your headset and waist, approximately. I get the same problem when my phone is in my front pocket (not indoors, though). If I put my phone in my back pocket, I have no problems.
You might try an iPod armband or something when running.
