Class designations (class 2, 4, 8, 10) refer to the speed of data transfer. Won't notice much difference in your device, but transferring data in a card reader on a PC will see a big difference. From what I understand, BB devices won't surpass Class 2 speeds.

If you're just using it in your phone than class 2 is enough as in your BB it won't matter even if you have class 4 and up. If you're using it in a card reader than different story.

As of right now I have no media card. I just got my blackberry a few days ago. I just want to be able to download some apps and music. I doubt there will be any transferring from my computer and such to the media card. What would you suggest would be a good size for me?

Apps must be loaded into device memory to be used. Media cards are for storage, and you can cache app files to it, but gotta install them to use them. With the prices, I'd recommend no smaller than 8 gig and lean towards 16.

Thanks for your response. I didn't know that about having to install the apps to device memory.
