I just bought an 8130 and when I put it into the leather sleeve I used with my old 8100 it won't go into holster mode, it just stays 100% turned on. Does the 8130 use different types of holsters? Or is there a setting somewhere that I may need to change? I'm hoping this isn't a hardware issue with the phone itself. Any ideas?
The leather sleeve is a BlackBerry brand model with the magnet located near the bottom.
I just tried a heavy duty magnet and got it to go into holster mode, when I try a weaker magnet..nothing. Anyone know how this function works on the phone and if there is anything I may be able to do to make it more sensitive to magnets?
I bought a new OEM Blackberry leather sleeve case and it successfully activates the holster mode on my 8130. So old style OEM Blackberry leather sleeve cases that are from the 8100 era won't work with newer models.
