How can I install Ringtones to an 8707 using USB?

RIM have disabled the Media Manager in their Desktop Manager, and Dynoplex eFile provides access only to its own directories, not the RIM Ringtone directory.

Edit: Solution found using eFile on the PC and BlackBerry device respectively. Explained below.

    Ak, have it working now.

I am including a solution that works for 8707v/OS4.2. However, has anyone hacked the RIM Desktop Manager to allow straight forward file transfers on this handheld?

The RIM Desktop Manager will not work because the buttons are greyed out. Instead, transfer MP3s to the BlackBerry over USB using the third party alternative called eFile.

You can now move/delete MP3s using the eFile program you installed on the BlackBerry. You cannot yet use RIM software to do this. Use cut & paste to move the MP3s from the eFile directory to the BlackBerry Ringtone's directory.

You can now move/delete/play the MP3s using the RIM media player, and set as Ringtone. What a hassle but at least it works
