Anyone having this problem: when I return to the home screen, holster my device, remove it later to find the device on a different screen. Like the buttons are being pressed in/out of the holster. Never had this problem with the 9630, is it the trackpad?

Possibly. I would lock the device then put it in the holster and see if it switches screens after that.

If it's the BlackBerry holster, maybe you're inadvertently pushing a key while putting it in. If it's aftermarket, maybe there's no magnet.

I purchased the BlackBerry horizontal holster and noticed the same thing. It drove me nuts for quit a while. Finally, one day I sat down and scrutinized how I holster / unholster the device. I discovered that when I'm removing the device, the trackpad gets pressed against the inside of the holster. There is an indent designed to shroud the trackpad; however, upon removal, the edge of the indent proves to be a hindrance.

I noticed that when I put my Bold in the case for the Tour I at times pocket dial numbers. I tried to put the lock option on but it seemed to bypass it when holstered.

You are talking about the keyboard lock, right? Are you saying that it dials after you place it in the holster? The BB holster for the Tour and Bold are the same. The proximity sensor should place the phone in standby rendering it unable to dial.

That's actually one of the reasons I gravitated towards the Seidio holster. Not to mention, I always had butter-fingers trying to get at the phone under my suit jacket.

Using my OEM Tour Holster, maybe I'll try the Bold holster and see if it helps. Thanks for the tips, but I hate entering the password to unlock...

Update: just realized some sound profiles are not vibrating when they should in the holster! I wonder if using my 9630 holster is the root cause? Maybe RIM moved the magnet sensor???

I'm also using the Tour's holster, most of the time I have no problem and everything works fine. Occasionally, very occasionally, I take my device out of the holster to fine it on my calendar. I have a hidden today theme and leave the cursor highlighting my calendar so that my today enteries are there.

I'm convinced that either on holstering or removing my device I am hitting the trackpad on the case in such a way that it brings up the calendar. In my case I can't get too excited about this as the phone is in standby while in the case and it vibrates and alarms as I have it set to do..
