    that's what is puzzling.

worked fine yesterday, but today the screen does not respond to clicks when in the holder. If I grab it in my hand it works, put it back and it won't respond.
You might check how tight you have it in the cradle. When I had mine real tight, it sometimes would not be responsive. Loosened it up a bit and worked fine.

How about modifying the charging doc station for use in a car?

Yes, I have Bracketron's air vent and cup holder. I bought both of them on eBay and they both work great.

Cup holder type mount and vent type mount would not work so I made one.

I got a universal car mount on sale at the Verizon Wireless store on clearance for $8.00. (attachs to ac vent), swivels, cushioned, and has worked well for me.

The nicest (and priciest) are KUDA mounts.

No. I used one of my cupholders with a mount. I have the Bracketron as pictured above.

i meant that i just sit my phone in one of my cupholders.. it works great because i can see the screen perfectly. i guess i'm just lucky though--not everyone's car will be set up that way.

I use to do that when I had my concealed display from my Valentine Radar Detector sitting on my Bracketron cupholder. But trying to access the buttons to dial viewing messages was too low to reach for the buttons.

Ok..just a quick update on my universal ac vent mount:

I don't advise using one of these if you use your ac a lot. When using it, on each occasion my phone rebooted. My phone never has rebooted itself...so I figured out it was because I had the air conditioner on and the back of the phone got really cold. (I recall the post about the snow and the phone being sluggish in the cold?). Anyway...I'm in Florida and unless they make a mini blanket as an accessory, I won't be using that mount.

Here is a video of the air vent mount...same holder, just different way of mounting it

The Bracketron is like a clamp. There is a little button that you press and it expands or loosens. If you want to hold it tight, you just squeeze.

You dont need the cup holder. You can remove the holder. I purchased the cup holder on ebay for $18 and I just purchased the air vent mount version on eBay as well for $7.99 with free shipping
I just ordered the vent clip version, thanks for the post & link !
