I have about 20 songs on my BlackBerry that I use as ringtones. However, when I let the phone ring, I only hear the first little bit of the song, then the phone vibrates, and repeats the same small beginning clip. Is there any way to make it play a whole song, or close to that?

Make sure that your phone is under tone only not tone and vibrate. That should work. Good luck

I still want it to vibrate... and I am guessing there is no way to make it vibrate while it's ringing...

Sorry stcybrry, you guessed it right. Option is Vibrate + Tone, not Vibrate & Tone.

BlackBerries cannot ring and vibrate at the same time. They'll vibrate first, then play your ringtone. Mp3 ringtones will only play the first 15 seconds, as far as I know.

Actually, you can get it set up to 30 seconds. Call CS and request it.

No not RIM, Tmobile. Just ask how to get your ringer to ring up to max time, which is 30 seconds. They will then give you a code that you need to enter on your phone to change that setting. That's what I did with mine. Just wished it would ring 2 minutes But I don't think the caller on the other line would appreciate it

I don't understand how my carrier controls how long my phone plays a ringtone. Isn't that a device function? I'm not talking about ringback tones. Or are you talking about how many times the line will ring until the system sends it to voicemail?

she's talking about how many rings til it goes to voicemail, obviously they cant control how long til the person hangs up, but they stay on the line it will keep ringing.

o wow. I didnt know you can have it set to longer ring. I'm gonna have to call with mine. Its so hard to have a good full ring tone only for 15-20 seconds. 30 seconds would be so adequate.

plus, I'm sure if they really needed to talk to you, they'd wait or at least wait to leave their voicemail. Or hang up immediately and test you, if they havent.

Does this work for Sprint too? (calling them to make your ringtone :30 secs)

I've been disappointed about how short the length of the ringtones are. Some of the melody ringtones that came with the phone are longer than :15 secs. You'd think you could make this modification on your own.

While on the phone yesterday with At&t to activate my phone, I asked the rep I can have the ring up to 30 seconds, and he did it for me in less than a minute.

Make sure the ringtone is an MP3 and not a WAV file. Turned out the ringtone I created was a WAV file, wh/ was too big for the BB. Converted it to an MP3, which is much smaller, and it played the whole song edit - about 17 secs - no problem...

I called ATT and they hooked me up with a longer ringtone in just a minute or two! They can only increase the time by 5 second increments, and only up to 30 seconds. Now I can get the full effect of the ringtone....cool! Aloha!
