I am a new crackberry user and I am in desperate need of someone to tell me how to get the free music that everyone raves about!!
Go to the CB ringtone section.
    Find one you like.
Click "email ringtone" and email it to the email address you use on your CB (I use my Gmail account on my CB and just email it there).
When the email arrives, open it.
    Click save.

Then go into your ringers and click browse and mine is on "Device memory" and set it as a ringer.

I am already a registered member here but everytime I try to email/download a ring tone, the site logs me out. I don't even have the option to email it an account b/c I have to register first. I am already registered so what is going on?

I'm looking for Texas Fight and The Eyes of Texas. Does anyone know where I can find them? It doesn;t seem to be in the crackberry ringtone catalogue. If you have it, or know whereI can down load them for free, please let me know.

    Thanks!!!!

First, I'm going to apologize for the cross-post, but I originally posted this question in the wrong forum.

I'm on the Curve 8330 and downloaded a whole bunch of ringtones. For some of them, though, I get a message on the BB saying "The media being played is of an unsupported format." Others play just fine. All were through the free crackberry page.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Thanks!
    Mike

    Howdy,

You can use desktop manager to do that. Should have come w. your berry on a CD. You can manage your media with it. Or if you have a media card you can access it directly and drop them things into the ringtone folder of your media card. I've done it both ways.

Since we're talking ringtones. Can we upload them as well. I have a slew of late 80's early 90's RB songs I edited for ringtones (groups like Cameo and Zapp).

If folks be interested and all o' dat dere.

    Peace

How do I submit a ringtone? I tried picking a song from my iTunes library and I get an error everytime. Am I missing a step?

I'm sure there are a ton of uploads that take up the moderators time, so I was curious how long the process usually takes to get approved? I uploaded about 6 or 7 ringtones a couple of days ago.

    Mostly video game sounds.

Why are SO MANY people SO OBSESSED with ringtones? Take a look at the list of threads in the CB forums! OMG, it's like 70% of them are about ringtones! LOL! BB users need to get a life!

OK, I admit, it was one of the first things I wanted to do when I got my Storm. I think that's b/c the RIM folks want to make sure there is no possibility of copyright infringement with the pre-installed ringtones. That's probably why they are so sucky!

Ennyhoo, I am one of those folks who loathes windoze. I bailed on that stuff years ago in favor of Linux so having BB's so intimately tethered to that OS is an egregious pain for me! I use Ubuntu now and have found an app called "Barry" but I am simply not interested in "tethering" so Barry is of limited use.

Meanwhile I have enabled the mass-storage access on my Storm using Ubuntu so I can access the media folders for, you guessed it, ringtones. Oh and music too. :-)

I don't think the gallery is being updated anymore. I uploaded a few ringtones, none of which would have copyright issues and they aren't there yet. It has been almost a month.
