Finally snagged both a Mugen 3300mah extended battery and hard holster for my Tour 9630. Not overly concerned with appearance just so long as I can go for 48 hours w/o charging...

Above pic shows my Tour 9630 ready to clip on to my belt for work

This pic shows the case separate from the Tour

This pic show a sideview...note the thickness..not bad at all!

That battery is huge! What is the talk time and stand by time for that? The case looks pretty good though.

Talk time as advertised states 12 hours of non-stop talking or 33 days standby. My 9630 is a company issued 9630 with unlimited data plan for tethering. I am in the field practically every working day and not always within close proximity to my car charger. With the Mugen powering my 9630 I can leave bluetooth on, enable bright backlighting on the screen, use Sprint Navigation frequently and not have to worry about running short on battery. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder....I like my setup, don't need to impress anyone, and can do my job properly. This is the way a Blackberry should be designed...

Though eflw1029 has a good point. A PDA/Smartphone should fulfill the requirements of the individual user.

hey if i had a need to go two days on a charge and use GPS/bluetooth etc i'd do it too, who cares how thick it is, if you need the extra power in the device to do your job then it becomes necessary.

my question is this: is it easier to hold while texting? i would imagine it would be with it thicker like that

I'm a 60-yr old man bordering on retirement and as mentioned in a earlier post, Blackberrys can and should be configured all according to how you need it. The good news is eventually the market will come out with aftermarket-accessories, parts and add-on's some it it designed to address shortfalls and most of it absolute junk. The 9630 as it comes out of the box to me is way too small and I was worried I would drop it especially as I typed the letters "a, q, z, and p" since they are close to the edge where you typically hold the device. This is my 3rd corporate issued blackberry and while the younger crowd likes "small" my first Blackberry 7520 was my favorite due to it's size and basic features. I am in the field almost every day and depend on just getting emails, escalations, tethering so I can download software patches and updates for our clients.
I've tried using the 9630 with the 1400mah battery, the Seidio 2600mah battery, and the Mugen. I like the heft and dimensions of my 9630 "with" the Mugen and it works for me!

Dont get me wrong, I want extra battery life too. The Tour is awful on battery.. wont go a full day on normal use with a need for a charge.

The size is huge though, is there something in the middle? As far as size?

    CB BL,
If you want an extended battery smaller than the Mugen 3300mah then Seidio is you only other choice. Ebay sellers are advertising availability of a 1600mah however I would be very wary purchasing one....ask me how I know!
