Preloaded ringtones can't be deleted off the curve...they are inbedded in phone.

They can be, but you have to be willing/comfortable going into the OS files and manually deleting them on your PC, then loading those files to your phone.

Doesn't save enough memory to make it worth the hassle, imo

Last time I used crackmem it didnt delete the ringtones. It deleted the wallpaper and preloaded video. But the newer OS version dont have the preloaded video anymore.

I just don't get it...does RIM think THAT much about THEIR Ringtone choices, to not allow phone-owners the simple delete option?

It is simple, if you have already downloaded and installed both BlackBerry Desktop Manager and a copy of your Bold device OS software.

The ringtones are compressed and packaged into a single support file. Restoring that file replaces the ring tones.

If you need further assistance, you will find complete upgrade instructions posted at the top of the Bold 9000 sub-forum.
