I love the black and red color combo so I decided to customize my Otterbox Commuter case with some high quality scratch proof plastic paint($20 a can!), Here is the final product. I will post some better pics later including the front and side views. All in all I think it turned out really well.

nice work...but that looks like the "commuter case", not defender.
NIce work....will you post pics in about 2 months. I want to see what it looks like then.
That's the real test. Supposedly this paint is pretty hard core. It binds to the molecules of the plastic and kind of paints it from the inside out. You can try to scratch it with a key and it won't scratch at all. They use it for refinishing interior work on cars like the vinyl seats, etc. but I'm curious to see what it looks like in two months too!
It looks AWESOME lol. Please update us on the quality of the paint, any rub-off, etc! Also how did you do this? Is it as simple as spraying it once and letting it dry?
It is a spray paint. It takes a couple of nice even coats to cover up the original black but the paint is very high quality so as long as you hold the can about 8-10" away while spraying you shouldn't get any runs or drips.
I have the same case but am looking to get the Defender Series. I'm going to take after you and try it with that. I'll post pics and all when I'm done.
