lak611 I search through the site and found nothing for the 8500 series phones. This is the only thing I found from Google.

Other than that I don't think there is a RIM branded charging pod available for 8500's like other Blackberry devices. The 8500 series has no contacts for charging the phone (other than through the micro usb port) So I don't think they can make one, unless they somehow make a new battery door that makes contact with the battery. Why RIM would do this? I have no idea.

So to the OP I think your SOL unless Powermat (or whatever the other company is) eventually makes one. Which would change the battery door.

The only thing coming soon is a charger for a stand alone curve 2 battery.

Oh well, I didn't think there would be since it doesn't have connectors on the bottom. I guess that's a small trade off with the upgrade.

Nice Find! Didn't know something like that existed. It kind of seems goofy, but it is a charging dock.

for the new curve just by one of those inexpensive leather stands and just plug into the usb port....
I don't use a pod anymore on my 8330 cause of my innocase, but it did save wear and tear on the usb port when I used it. Wish they made an adjustable pod, like apple does with all their adapters.....

Any idea if a magnetic type charger would work like some of the newer electronic devices have? Maybe this is a possile future enhancement to the chargers.... Otherwise that eBay one looks decent enough.
