Well, I just ordered a refurb 9700 from AT&T's website so I should get it this upcoming week. I just need a good case for the phone. I drive a forklift outside six days a week so it needs to be durable. Not asking for something that can withstand driving over that phone, I just want something that will take a hit for the phone from say a 5 foot drop. I think my best bet is the Otterbox Defender, but I just wanted to make sure before I drop $30 on a case.
Otterbox or the Seidio Rough. Ive used both companies, I would get the one you can get the best price on. You'll be getting a bargain if you can find either for $30, I think they are a little higher. congrats on the 9700, sweet device.
^^^ quick reply. Amazon has a sale right now on the Defender for $30, and it can be found on ebay brand new for $32. I will look into that other case you mentioned.
Thanks! I cant wait to get this. Huge upgrade from my 8110 Pearl (can't complain. It's a great device as well)

Yeah, I must agree about the Otterbox Defender. That thing is freaking BEASTY. I have a few cousins, whom of which are mechanics, that have them, and man those can take a hit! Theyre a bit bulky for my taste, I'd probably go with the Commuter, but for the best protection, the Defender is the way to go.

Good protection with minimal thickness. Didn't want to add too much size to my device. Another plus is the ability to use the seidio dock with the case.
I personally have the otterbox impact series for my 9700. Best case under $20 IMHO. I've dropped my phone plenty of times (I work in a warehouse and on cars). The phone is covered with on the keypad, screen and trackpad exposed. Has all the necessary openings for everything and access to the convience keys.
