Using a different charger is not going to matter. I bought a $12 Griffin USB car charger. It has two ports and I can charge my GPS, iPod, and my BB off of it. Nothing better.

I'd like to have 2nd charger at work and maybe a 3rd in my work bag for when I travel.

Might get a 2nd battery with charger if I'm gonna do a lot of traveling.

where and what did you purchase? Since battery life ain't that great on Tour, Im def. gonna have to purchase car charger.

I read somewhere that the main reason why they switched to micro USB is so they can sell more accessories since most people have the mini USB accessories already.

I've also read people recommend not to buy those cheap car chargers off ebay but I bought a cheap car charger from ebay for like $5 for my 8830 and never had issues so I'll most likely go the same route, where ever is cheapest.

I received a car charger and wall charger free when I upgraded my 8703e to the Tour. Both work well.

I only wish there was a cradle type solution for a charger. The wall charger/plug OEM solution is so inelegant. I know they make a cradle, but you still have to use the plugin.

I bought a cigaret adaptor with a retractable cord for .3 cents and 2.98 shipping off of amazon. it charges slow, but that doesn't bother me.

I also bought a blackberry oem charger for 1.78 new plus 1.99 shipping and handling off of amazon. plus an extra usb to micro cable for .50 cents, shipping was included with the charger.

I had the mini-USB version when i had my 8330.
Had an aftermarket one first when I got my 8330. Returned it as it didn't work, and ended up with this one.

Just got my 9630, and the micro-USB version along with it.

I didn't know they had that adapter, but I wouldn't have bothered anyway. My 8330 is going to co-worker as their 1st pda, so mini-usb car charger going with it.

Good advice for others though!

Any issues with the adapter yet? (charging as quickly, etc)
