Or is it just the 9500 that works?
9530 is a worldwide blackberry, so it has the GSM as well. I have tested the voice connection with ATT simcard and was able to make a call successfully. Since I don't have ATT Blackberry I couldn't test data connections.
I know that there are a bunch of threads on how to get 9530 working on ATT and TMobile as well in this site. Since the phone is unlocked you shouldnt have any issues with having it working on ATT even for data.
