    Hello everyone!

My girlfriend is looking to upgrade her dumbphone, so im "helping" her enter the world of Blackberrys - if possible.

Im just curious if anyone out there is looking to get rid of a good condition older model Blackberry.

Due to the merger between Alltel and Verizon - AND the subsequent sale of specific markets to AT&T (which includes us in North Dakota), I'm really questioning the ability to use any CDMA devices once the networks are transferred to AT&T, so buying an expensive/new phone is not an option until more info is known.

She's not really sure if she's interested in the full keyboard, but if the price is right, I'm sure she wont mind - especially as I watch her clank away at the keypad of her dumbphone (LOL).

Also, if any of you are Alltel customers, what's the rate on data plans? I'm sure it's required, no matter what BB device she may get.

So let me know what you've got and I'll pass on the word!

I have an old pearl but it's not in mint conditioning and I would have no idea what to sell it for.

As far as the rate plans go...If she's on a stand alone plan, the cheapest would be $69.99 a month for unl data, 500 min, unl N&W, and 5 MC numbers...
The best vallue is for $89.99 for 500 min, unl data, unl text, unl n&w @ 7, and 10 MC numbers. If she's on a family plan, she would need to be made the primary line and be put on this plan and any additional line would be $20/month per "dumb phone" and $40/month for any additional smartphone.

Thanks for the response. If the pearl is in fairly good condition, then it's worth pursuing...as long as she wants to keep with the old style of text input.

Feel free to think about a price, take a pic and get back to me if you want and I'll relay the info.

After stopping in the local Alltel store, the rep said it would only cost about $15 a month more for the data because of the current cost of her unlimited text plan. She didn't say much about that - but I don't see why $15 could be a deal breaker in that regards.

Ok well, it's at my dad's house and I won't be heading to that part of the state until this weekend probably so I'll be able to take a picture then and let ya know.
