In my opinion, 4Media Video Converter for Mac , would be the best choice among so many video converter for mac products.

This is probably a bit late but why not use quicktime pro? Granted its 20 bucks but you get alot of bang for your buck using it and it encodes in H.264

Visualhub does the same as quicktime pro. I love Visual hub. Worth every penny I spent ($20). I've never had a problem with audio sync where as handbrake I had issues and popcorn too.
It also converts .TS files for you PVR guys.

    Handbrake : FREE
    VisualHub: not free

Both are good and get the job done...

as for ripping a DVD to a Video_TS file... use MacTheRipper

And I am only suggesting all of this for completely legal uses... haha

I am a MAC user and I was able to convert a WMV file my girlfriend made me to an MP4 file on iMovie HD and it worked on my Blackberry. I don't know how it will work with other files, but it works great for WMV's. Plus this program came with the computer. So check it out

    Cheers

I've had Visual Hub for a while and it's been working fine. I know it's not free but it's not expensive either. Like all good things in life it'll cost ya.

Has any one actually gotten to use DoubleTwist?

Not really. There are plenty of good free apps.
