You have to download the Windows version of desktop manager. and use it to upgrade the os.

I ran my upgrade on XP which I run on my mac through virtual box (the FREE sun microsystems thingy). Worked like a charm. So if you have an old XP disc lying around, download virtual box and you can do it that way.

You can also use the program already installed on your mac "bootcamp" if you have an xp disc. i hear this works best

In the update program it can auto-backup your device for you - so why not just use your buddies windows pc to do the whole process?

Mine is working so well now, I'm not going to upgrade the os until I've forgotten the hassles I went through to get it working so well.
I have a thinkpad with DM installed and the mac version of DM is like greased lightning compared to the PC version.

you can't upgrade a blackberry os directly via mac. you will need it to run through windows virtual machine or parallels.

but its perfect the sync, app loader, restore, etc
