I downloaded the new MAC Desktop software & it is about 3/4 through where it says "updating device Blackberry Bold" but has sat at same point for at least 30 minutes but won't go any further.

The bar is scrolling & underneath it says "waiting for device to restar" & Do not disconnect until update is complete.

How long should this take & what happens if I stop it or disconnect the cable?

    Thanks.

Much as I hate all things Apple, this probably has little to do with your Mac.

During an upgrade, there are several phases of installation and the second from last stage is a looong wait where the phone opens up the OS (cod) files and checks them and puts them in their correct places and generally makes sure all is well. The computer has to wait while this happens and my guess is that the new DM software or the phone just lost it. I have even seen this on PCs from time to time.

The fix is to take a deep breath and reboot the phone.
If this happens, you will have to restore the AutoBackup (ipd file) man
ually via DM. I have no idea where the Mac will store this file.

After this, all should be well with the phone.

You might be better off asking this question over in the Mac forums.
