I have a black macbook, circa Fall 2008 before the silver ones came out. When I place my Bold 9000 on the left corner of my macbook, just under the keyboard, my laptop screen locks as if I just closed it. It must be some reaction with the magnetic speakerphone speaker on the Bold device. Not that this means anything, but it's a fun oddity.

Note: no damage whatsoever experienced or expected, imo.

It does that with any computer that uses a magnet to sense the lid being closed. It did it on my old Vaio and the Mac both.

Ah, yes that would explain it. Now here's another interesting question, not really 'berry related. Is there any thin material that blocks magnetism? That way I could close my lid w/out my laptop going into standby (and without just changing the close lid setting). Purely an academic question, with a slight bit of utility.
