I'm a long-time CB reader, but haven't posted much. I have a Storm, a Mac computer, and just downloaded Desktop Manager to the Mac. I have never done an OS upgrade to my Storm (still sporting the original .75 software), but I'd like to upgrade to the new .328 OS that Verizon just released.

I KNOW there are probably several threads giving very detailed, "newbie", step-by step instructions, on 'how-to' do the upgrade using a Mac and Desktop Manager, but I cannot seem to find one.

After searching and reading lots of other similar threads ("Oh, use a PC", or "Use AppLoader", etc.), I could use some help if someone could just post a simple link to one of the tutorials that CB is full of.
Please do not flame on me, as I know how some folks like to jump in and give the "Use the SEARCH" speech. It's late and I haven't found what I'm looking for as yet, but I know it's in here somewhere.
Thanks for all your help. This site is incredible.

Well according to Kevin the official Verizon OS 5 should load on using DM Mac... I can't guarantee that though

Download the file which was posted on the blog page and sync your storm to DM Mac and see if it prompts an update.

Facebook missing and Java exception when upgraded from a Mac - SOLVED

    1.) Backup your data.
2.) In the Mac version of the Blackberry Desktop software, click Applications, then Check for Updates.
    3.) Click "Show other versions"
4.) Select the option labelled "Current Version - Reload" then click Select
5.) In the next screen, expand the "Reload Options" area and make sure both "Back up and restore device data" and "Back up and restore third-party applications" are unchecked
    6.) Click re-load
    7.) Restore your previous backup
    8.) Re-install third-party applications manually.

This solved both the java error messages and fixed my missing Facebook application. Hope it helps.

****i did not come up with this, its copied and pasted from BB support forums*****
it worked for me though, face book is back for me

Hey BlackBelt!! I too am a Mac user and I downloading the latest upgrade was fine minus the fact that I was getting Java errors and no facebook. It has all been fixed now by following the steps in the other comments I posted. Good luck!
