How do you do it even with a non-leaked version? Is there a vendor file to delete etc?

So, there's no way to install leaked OS using a Mac?
There is a way but you have to type in a special syntax at the terminal for you to see the hidden files.

If it's Official release from your provider then you can do it using App loader on your DM. If it's Official release BUT not from your provider then you have to open the Terminal and then locate the vendor file then delete that before proceeding with the update.

KB18998-How to reset the BlackBerry smartphone to factory defaults

This link will teach you to reset to factory default. Not sure if that is what you consider a "wipe"
