So I would like to take off the current music on my 9700 and switch it with a new playlist. The only problem is that there is no option for this in the desktop manager and the only way I can see to do it is delete each song on the phone manually, but Ive got about 300 songs! Help!

Uh....plug the device into the mac using usb...the media card should show up in the finder (as a drive on the desktop). Open the drive, select all the mp3's you want, drag them to the trash and empty the trash.

So I was able to delete all of my music, but when I go to put the new playlist on, desktop manager says I am still using 1.8 gigs. Whats the deal?

Make sure you empty your trash. Even though the files are no longer visible/accessible, the data remains on the card until the trash has been emptied.
